That sucks. Its never cool to get a sloppy order. I dont blame you for feeling like you do. Each frag needs its own bag and plenty of water.

I disagree, a single 150w bulb will not grow sps in a 40 inch tank long term with any sucess. I would go for the 400 and just raise it a bit so you get more coverage and still have light...

That could cause it, 14k is more intense usually. If there is alge growing on the tips and the polyps arent out, its dying. Places with alger growing on them are already dead.
