Home Depot has connectors that have 1/2 male to 3/4 slip or 1"slip. That's how I got my mag connected externally. I use it for a close loop.

Hand tighten then wrench it a bit further. Check for leaks. Don't use a wrench to tighten only as you can put too much pressure.

Yea, you heard right.

What's the story, can you acclimate them for SW? As I've heard, they go nuts for cyano. I figured they would just breed like crazy and feed my tank, lol.

That's a killer skimmer you are running. Sedra 9000 is used on the larger ASM skimmers.
