Can anyone tell me how to get rid of mushrooms. They are taking over my rock!

I have tried to cut them off at the rock, but as you know they come back quick.

I need more drastic and permanent...

PBT with white spot

My PBT has had a large spot on right side fin for over a week. I don't think it is ick since no other spots are present. It does not seem to bother him.

Can someone suggest a good pump for a reef tank? I don't want to just buy the same thing if there is a better choice. This only lasted 12-14 months (just beyond warranty).
