It had been thriving for about 9 months until the BTA moved right next to it so I'm pretty confident the BTA did the damage.

How should I try to frag it?

The BTA is near the bottom of the tank approx. 1 ft below the lights. It is really anchored into a rock crevice and hasn't shown any sign of moving.
