I switched quite a few years ago from cc to sand. The Southdown sand made a hell of a mess but the fish were unaffected.

Fortunately, knock on wood, I haven't seen any destruction from these guys. I've got star polyps galore in the tank that seem unaffected. They also seem to leave my scroll coral and brain alone.

It actually has a kind of light pinkish/tanish color to the stems, and the tops a light green that fluoresces under the blues. Definately not bleached, except by a crappy digital camera! :D
