Is Bio-Cal by Tropic Marine a two part additive ?
Just wonderring if dosing Bio-Cal (Tropic Marine) alone with take care of both calcium and alk ? What about magnesium ? I'm currently using Randy's two parts additive.

You would need atleast 4 bulbs if you want to...
You would need atleast 4 bulbs if you want to keep sps. I would go for 6 bulbs though ( 2x 10k, 2x blue plus, 2x super actinic)

Oh that Mag pellets are made by Dead Sea Works and it's ok to use i suppose ? Are the mixing instructions still the same for using pellets instead of flakes ?

I use this bulb for my fuge and the chaeto is growing like crazy. It's 4300k bulb i think. Homedepot also sale a Power Compact bulb that uses regular light socket that is 5000k if that's what you are...

I don't think it's the bulb even yours is at 9 months old. The general consensus is 1 year for metal halide ~ 8 hrs/day. Clam needs strong lighting and ussually do best under 10,000k metal halide.

For lps & softies i would go with 4 bulbs T5 setup, Ice Cap reflectors, Ice cap 660 ballast. For blueish look, you can try:
- 1 day light
- 1 actinic
- 2 blue plus

I've been running my light from 5:00pm - 1:00am...
I've been running my light from 5:00pm - 1:00am for months.
MH is only on for 6 hrs. Actinic comes on/off for the first hour, then come on/off again for the last hour.

I would go for a 4 bulbs T5 setup on your tank, 2x10k 2xactinic. T5 bulbs will last longer than NO bulbs and you can keep...

It will not grow as fast when you don't spot feed it but it still grows. I now only feed mine once a week versus 3 times/week before and i notice that it grows much slower now.
