What a neat product. Great for the return on the sump pump.
Also the take off from the bottom bulkhead in to the sump.

I was only using the BV on the discharge/return...

I was only using the BV on the discharge/return to the tank in order for maintanance purposes.

ie. shut off the pump and then close the BV.

Do I still need unions for the maintance if I have...

Better to have a swing or a spring loaded?

I have frequent power outages.

Spring loaded seems better for stopping the reverse flow, but seems like it would add significantly to the head...
