I have a closed loop drilled into my Oceanic 58 gallon. The flow is an added bonus with no room taken up in the tank. Well worth it IMO.

IMO you should put it back. Better that way for the both of you. Octo's are not easy to keep and they're master escape artists. If your tank isn't practically sealed, chances are it'll get loose.

Sounds like a neat idea. What about the metal halides though? You'll need to leave them off for a bit before they'll fire again right? Would you be doing this at normal "lights off" time?

Seabae anemones are not supposed to be that white...

Seabae anemones are not supposed to be that white in color. They are often "bleached" to make them more attractive to hobbyists. It looks ok but it won't be completely "healthy" until the white turns...
