Why stir if all you want is to keep the top layer...
Why stir if all you want is to keep the top layer bleachy clean? Throw in a couple of sand star and they will do the job for you naturally.

I think that Tong's gears towards newbies. Experienced reefers know their way around and where to get good corals at good price. Tong's is more of a public aquarium for experienced reefers.

I have heard that emerald crab is not good for reef tank. It may attack your coral once there is no food left for it to munch on. I would take it out, once it finishes its cleaning task.
