With a 36" long tank, one 250w bulb isn't going to provide good par in on the edges on in the corners. Luckily, since the tank is only 18" deep, a 150w bulb will do about as well as a 250w. Heat...

It is a bit much. A 150w would be more than enough and for a tank that small, T5s would keep the heat down and feed the corals plenty of light.
