Re: Recommend Soft Coral or LPS that stay small.

lps might not like this combination - they don't usually like high light/high flow. you could try a trumpet which wouldn't get blown around too much and maybe some zoas.

Yeah, that's why I always recommend the lifereef - no air pockets, no problem, regardless of the flow. As I said, I'd be real nervous right now because my flow is so slow - but I can't raise it much...

I'm not familiar with the amiracle, but I'd be pretty nervous right now if it weren't for my lifereef - it's currently running a mag 5 with only 250 gph due to head (it's rated for 500 gph, I think)....

Cool. I figure the hood's not worth much since it would need new lamps, so I might as well save a little money on a ballast. Maybe I can do something about the 'ugly'. :D

Thanks

Can I re-use the pc ballast from my coralife hood?

I'm thinking of getting a 24" PFO parallel reflector for a 175w MH bulb. It has the 'wings' that would allow me to add some bulbs at the side. Since I'm upgrading from my coralife double pc hood,...
