I think it depends on when you put the fish in...
I think it depends on when you put the fish in the tank as well as the age of the fish.
the sixline is the last fish I added to my tank (8 total fish) and it is significantly smaller (1.5 inches)...

I don't think it would be a great idea to have 6 tangs in a 4 ft. tank.
I am sure you will get other more heated responses from the tang police. These fish need lots of room to swim freely.

I put three peps in my 90 gal that had at least a couple hundred aiptasia, it took them about 6 months but now they are all gone in my display...

I have had a glasscages 90 gal with no problems for about 7 months - all seams are fine. Maybe no the prettiest tank but certainly works.
