Yea I did the one for my 120 out of 2x4 and it ended up weighing a ton. The 1x4 are cheaper, seam to be straighter, lighter, and easier to work with.

Mine is so dark they are almost impossible to see. But when he's photographed with a flash his color washes out and you can see them very well. I've had mine about 3 yrs as well.
