You can't run a 90* elbow after that gate valve....

You can't run a 90* elbow after that gate valve. It needs a "T" as stated above to relieve the pressure. It's written in the instructions.

OOOPS! Too much Teflon Tape and overtightening the fitting! I would look for a new volute, don't know if I'd risk trying to repair that. If it's being used externally I wouldn't be able to sleep well...

Aqua C has to be the most tempermental skimmer on the planet. Sometimes I wish I had spent the extra money on another unit.

Have you considered any of the E.T.S.S skimmers?

GSP not opening for 3 days

Kinda strange. Everything in the tank is thriving, parameters are all normal. Yet for the last 3 days, my GSP have been closed up tight. Any thoughts on this?

I have both. The pinpoint needs to be calibrated constantly. The probe fills up with air bubbles that need to be shaken out in order to get a decent reading.

I use the frozen kind. I cut off a piece the size of a pencil eraser and let it thaw in a glass of tank water once a week. EVERYTHING in my 58 gallon reef goes crazy...
