Yes, you can use pH buffer if you want, most use kalk but if your system doesn't need the extra ca/dkh it adds then just use buffer.

I think that would be fine. My 220 system is plumbed with 4 drains in a approx. 80 gallon sump/fuge and I'm returning with a Sequence DART which at the head height 5.5' I'm guessing gives me a flow...

Yes, our daughter fed, tested and dosed for two weeks while we were halfway around the world. Aside from the dkh being a little low when we got home, all was well.
