Thanks for the replies. Is there a standard tank size that works well for 120G tanks? The tank would need to be under 24"x48" to fit in the stand.

Sump size for a 120G

I am thinking of getting a 38G (36" x 12" x 20") AGA tank as a sump for my 48x20 120G display. Is this about right, or should I get a larger sump?

1850 g/h. The pump can also be converted to 6100 by buying a different transformer ($79 on premiumaquatics.com), and then you have 3170 g/h.

Tunze 6000 for Tunze 6055

If you bought a 6055 and feel that it is underpowered for your tank, I could offer you a very lightly used 6000 for it. Please PM me if you are interested.

The heater and TDS thermometers are typically not very good. All of my heaters are 2-5 degrees off.

I would trust the ACJr.

I have just one overflow (this is a 120G Perfecto tank).

I bought a 3500 on Dr Foster's yesterday for $53 including shipping. That's one sweet deal.

You still need a ground loop isolator for this, right?

Are there cheaper isolators than the one offered by Neptune?

Is OR3500 about right as a return pump for a 120g? Should I forget about considering OR 2500 (roughly 400 g/h at 5 foot height)?

BTW, found the manual for Ocean Runner pumps here:

My 10G nano overgrows with coralline algae in about a month or two. Rather than scraping it off, I just buy a new tank. Costs about $10.

You can make one yourself easily. Take a milk jug, drill two small holes in the cap, then insert some rigid tubing in there and finish with silicone. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes of your time.
