I've found that 32.5 ppt is about equal to a real salinity of 35 ppt. So when I measure my salinity I have for 32.5 on my deep six to try and get a real life 35 ppt. I hope maybe this helps.

Definetly drip acclimate. Even fish seem happier when you drip acclimate. This way the salinities will slowly match up. Otherwise you could kill whatever it is that you're introducing.

I have a tiger tail cucumber too. My first one didn't acclimate well. No ill effects from the first one's death. The second one is alive and strong and about 18 inches long and it keeps growing.
