I think I am going to try and post some pics. I am really hoping that it is probe start ballast so it works with my XM lights. If I knew what type of ballast it was I could get appropriate lights.

How can I tell if my ballast is safe!?!

I got a great deal on two 250w metal halide ballasts and XM 10,000k bulbs. The guy I got them off of said the ballast and bulbs were compatable.

The problem is there is no markings of any sort...

wow, I am jelous! I watched a whole tv show about those cuddle fish and I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Do they change color and stuff in the home aquarium?

I do not need the flow of the 6101, so I am glad...

I do not need the flow of the 6101, so I am glad that I was able to get the 6000 before my lfs went out of stock. I didn't want to spend the extra $60 each for flow I did not need.

Fish, coral, rock, sand in seperate containers. Move tank and get water at right temp and salinity. dump stuff in.

If that dosn't sound good to you, you could do what is did when my main tank...

There was an article a few months ago in Reefkeeping that proved that XM bulbs gave off the most light energy, I think it was measued in par. not sure about the color though.
