I am pretty sure a DSB does not need light. I see no reason that it would since the de-nitrifying bacteria are deep in the sand bed and will not get any light at all.

I have decided to go with a CSS 125 after all....
I have decided to go with a CSS 125 after all. This is because a local reefer is selling it new for 40 less than the original price. Thank you all for your advice though.
