I have 6 six them and have been awesome, but they are well feed because my tangs get feed twice a day. So they get a lot of scrapes.

Heres my orange shoulder. I have had him for over 3 yrs and is the whole reason I set up my 450 gallon tank. I have a goldflake, a black tang and few other rare fish and I wouldnt trade any of them...

quite a few people use it, as mentioned the only thing is it wont buffer and some creatures dont like to live in it. otherwise your free to use it.

I had barebottom for awhile and easy to take care of, but didnt look natural at all to me. With 450 I just put about a 2 inch sand bed for the natural look. To me to it comes down to what you like...

I use super darts on my 450 for closed loop and return and the current is awesome. I do have the CL dar sitting up on the back of the stand, it only has about two feet of head that helps that.
