I also had a six line wrasse and it decided all my 6 peppermint shrimps was his main course. i also got rid of it! I figure it was a bad one I got!

I would not remove the brace, unless you have an tank engineers report stating it was safe to remove the brace. Either get two MH lighting for the tank as the others have also stated!

I have had both and I have to agree with jda...
I have had both and I have to agree with jda comment. The trick to keep them alive is to get a healthy specimen from the start and the fish has a better survival rate in our reefs!

I also agree with Manny do a few water change and it might stablize your tank parameters or if there is toxins in the water from the dead fish it will help the other animals with a large water change!

I have had success using scotch brite scrubbing...
I have had success using scotch brite scrubbing pad for pots and dishes to get that hard to get off scum on the tank. Just keep the glass wet when scrubbing.
