I always thought that the gallons per day ratings were for ideal conditions, 77 degrees and all that. I don't need that much water, sure, but that would let me obtain what I need faster.

What media do you use in your nano cube?

I live about 90 miles from Houston, the nearest place with real saltwater stores. So far I have been to Aquarium World and a couple other places...where is the best reef store down there?

I've had both a Rio and Mag pump. The Mags are MUCH better built, quieter, and better for pressure applications. Rios have received bad reviews for years from experienced reefers.

Yes, but the DX is "discounted" on there for $160, the same price I paid from Premium Aquatics. IMO that is a good price for what you get. They include a good reflector to get more out of the PC's,...

Two or three smaller ones, this enables more even circulation throughout the tank. Since you already have a sump, I would consider a closed loop system with 2 separate nozzles.
