WOW, Love my NEW Lights

Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know about my new lights. I was running 2 - 250 MH XM 10K's and 2 actinic PC's. I replace the PC's with new T-5 HO and WOW, I went with the 2 actinic. It is new at Drs. Foster and Smith.

do your halide reflectors block out alot of light from the T5?
I am about to do the same thing to my tank

lpkirby 12/15/2006 02:09 PM

No, I am sure a little, but I cannot tell at all. the look is awesome and the actinic is just unbelievable.

dodgersfan25 12/15/2006 02:10 PM

well if the pics dont do justice, then i can just imagine how great your tank looks like in person. congrats

dcombs44 12/15/2006 02:23 PM

That looks like an asterina starfish by the way.

DSMpunk 12/15/2006 02:27 PM

I agree T-5s/VHO actinic are way nicer looking than PC actinics.

AVALover5498 12/15/2006 02:38 PM

Very nice! I always wondered this. Does the halides being close to the t-5's effect them at all. Or is it safe to keep them close to each other? Good luck.:)

Tank looks great... I am a big T5HO Actinic fan too. One thing I notice is your clam looks like it is getting blasted with current... you may want to move the clam or divert the flow somewhere else.

yea Reefman I saw that also when I was taking the picture, I have been playing with my flow, and I have turned the pvc slightly out of it's way.

I am so happy, Fed EX just came with my Leng Sy Cap and my ORA Acros.... Going to go and play for a while..

centerforce 12/15/2006 03:49 PM

I really like that look, Nice tank also

lpkirby 12/15/2006 09:41 PM

Thanks everyone, the new frags are all in and happy..

staticx 12/15/2006 09:53 PM

Nice tank. Killer light set up. Not a sand sifter star. In a few days you will have several more stars they multiply like crazy

ACBlinky 12/16/2006 01:58 AM

Nice, looks good! I switched over from all PCs to MH with T5 actinics and can't believe how much nicer the tank looks during the dawn/dusk period. T5 actinics really are nicer :)

lpkirby 12/16/2006 09:11 AM

I totaly agree, the dawn/dusk is sweet...

msuzuki126 12/16/2006 10:54 AM

Lets see the new frags. :)

lpkirby 12/16/2006 11:09 AM

I love them.... Today is better than yesterday.

skeeter-doc 12/16/2006 02:16 PM

kirby, that is not a ababy sand sifter star, it is an asterina sea star

lpkirby 12/16/2006 03:19 PM

skeeter, yeah I know now, would have been nice to see if my to sand sifters were getting busy. LOL

davocean 12/16/2006 03:43 PM

Very nice!
I got a similar setup from current about 6 months ago (not the retro, but the complete unit, pics in gallery)
Beautiful color, and my corals are growing so fast and healthy.
I'm loving the MH T-5 combo!

lpkirby 12/16/2006 03:50 PM

Yea this combo is going to be awesome, my corals look so nice already..

davocean 12/16/2006 03:58 PM

I can't believe how much I've had to trim back since getting this combo.
Nice pics, your tank looks nice!

lpkirby 12/16/2006 04:01 PM

Thanks, and I just ordered several Tyree SPS and some Tubs that will be here on Tuesday... Going to be sweet... Who knows maybe eveything will grow fast and look sweet and then I might be able to do some fragging..

jessp 12/16/2006 05:33 PM
