boy the'll have fun cleaning that!

That is pretty cool. That would be fun to be reading and see a school of fish swim by. I agree with the cleaning process though.

It slopes down to the tanks at each end. What keeps the water from flowing from the top section down to the tank and overflowing the tanks?

Must not be connected...

funman1 09/22/2006 05:46 PM

No they are connected, because both the tanks are at the same level one will not suck from the other. Try it with a tube in your sink.

Odd I know, but that's what makes it work.

 Different
I wonder if there is any flow through the tube? It would have to be set up with two tubes so a pump could force water through one and the other would keep the tanks the same level. If there isn't any flow I would think that water in the tube would get kind of hypoxic.

It has an FAQ that answers some of your questions:

How do you clean it?
Water flows through the highway continuously so the tank filters clean the water in the highway. Algea is removed using cleaning magnets for acrylic tanks.

How does water flow through the highway?
Water is pumped through a separate pipe from one tank to the other using a small pump. As the tank water levels change (one rises and the other falls) flow is induced through the highway by the force of gravity.
