Blue coral placement?

I was wonding where you think blue colored corals should be placed? Are they high light corals or low light? For example, I have a blue tort, should it be high or low in my tank? I thought, the lighter the color, the more light it needs?

it all depends on the coral. cali torts do well in both high and low- lower if you want more blue, higher if you want purple/green

Darn, I have 3 blue corals up higher in my tank. I really can't move them any lower though, I don't have the room. They are holding their color so far.

i would move it to my tank

I am having two blue corals in my tank.

This in at the upper section between my two halides. Absorbing intense lighting of both XM & Aquaconnect.

This is in the mide section

Also in between my two halides:D I thk both corals are fine although the upper level one gives me a slightly darker blue.

It could be my actinics playing tricks on my eye;)

Maybe when they are big enough to frag.:)

Ya Mike, its not workin' in your tank. Send it my way!

Intensity is only one factor in coloring up corals. If you want to turn or keep a coral a color then it has to get the right spectrum also. You can see this in a ORA tort. Those things seem to go from green to bright blue to purple. Check out this thread.

Read this and live it.

Or better yet, read a book, for goodness' sake! Much of what's on that thread is mishmash. The blind leading the ignorant!
