Can my ric be saved?

I have had this blue puffy florida ric for about 7 months. It started deflating and turning lighter colored so i moved it down in the tank to less light, with about the same current. It just continued to get worse. Its now almost completely white. I got it to eat some mysis the other night, but will that help at all? I moved it to the sandbed in shade with low flow tonight. Any ideas?

I would say it isn't getting ENOUGH light, not that it was getting too much. I have some up high right in the middle of my tank and they are bright and happy. I'd move it back up.

Yes, feeding it will help. But it does need light.

Well this all started out of the blue when it was right in the middle of my tank getting good light. My parameters:

Nitrate: 0-5ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Ammonia: 0ppm
pH: 8.4
alk: 7-8dKH
calcium: 460-480ppm
SG: 1.024
Temp: 80

I will move it back into the light again tonight and feed it. All my other rics look wonderful. I have 4 others, i even have that orange one that i moved with this guy to lower in the tank. I moved them 4 days ago, and now the orange is starting to split so i know its doing good. Any other ideas?

MY florida ricordia love the light I have 400 watts on a 40 gallon tank and they are top middle and they multiply well.

My experience with rics says its getting too much light.

And I know that rics (especially blues) can live under very low light.

I don't understand why it would suddenly start bleaching after 7 months though. Did you recently change your light?

maybe too much water flow?

Didn't change the lighting. I did increase the flow a bit, but not significantly. My orange ric in the picture is right next to it, doing great, and multiplying like crazy. I moved it up to more light this morning. But i think i'm with Sloth on this one. When i had it on the sandbed in low light it didn't color up, but didn't lose anymore color. And it actually started to puff up a bit more than it has lately. I'll give it some more time on the sandbed and see how it goes.

It's bleached for sure...I'd say to much light also. Give it a little time where it's at now and see how it reacts. Hope it comes back for you.
