Metal Halide Strobe Light?

I have an Outer Orbit 1078 with two 250W Metal Halide Bulbs. One of the bulbs is starting to act like a strobe light. Is it the ballast going bad or what? It is a brand new unit. I have only had it for a month.

:eek2:

switch bulbs from 1 ballast to the other and if it continues you should call the manufacturer, good luck.

I figured it out. The bulb was loose. I reseated it and now it is running fine again.

Scratch that. It started up again. I'll try switching the bulbs from one ballast to the other.

halides will commonly pulse when old. sometimes you will see them go from white to red to orange in pulses- very slightly but noticable.

your problem will most lightly be your bulb. when i come across problems like that on the job 3 out of five times its the bulb the problem.

I will definitely have to replace a bulb. Would a Phoenix Metal Halide work with a Outer Orbit or do I have to buy a Current-USA bulb?
