ocean ?

i was just in florida and my grandparents have a house on the gulf so i went out on there dock and looked for what ever life i could find. i ended up with about 30 of the coolest looking snails i have seen. they are a real good color and good size. does anyone know if it is bad if i put them into my tank like can they have something bad on them?

I would QT it just to be safe but I imagine it is ok. If you are worried you can drop them off at my house though

Check out Melev's site, maybe there's a pic on there of the type of snail you have.

They're probably zooanthid eating snails or something, lol, I'd watch them very closely just to make sure they're not getting into any mischief :)

just hope they are not some protected speciesLOL

i was in florida a few years ago and happened upon fish and wild life counting crabs, they said the fine was 50,000 plus 10 years for possession of the crabs they were counting.

wow no i hope they arnt protected but they dont seem to be eating any of my corals but the snails like to stay out of the water at the top of the tank

Maybe they are a type of nerite snails. Those snails spend part of their time out of the water when the tide goes out.

ya maybe i keep having to take them off the wood canopy lol they are all over
