75g stocking ideas
 

hey im really just looking for some links or ideas on stocking a 75g ---it will have a 55g sump/fuge

i currently have a pair of clowns and a watchmans goby pistol pair

only other inhabitants is my wife wants a tang-yellow or kole or one of the smaller ones --i know that ok

so what else is good for a 75g?

wrasses?
mandrins are cool (after 6months or a years maybe)?

any ideas or links to 75g stocking ideas>

I'll be watching this thread for ideas to stock my own 75G as well. However I will have a small yellow tang for sure myself :) (Plus my existing paired clowns from my old tank)

I've got a Royal Gramma in my 75 with a pair of clowns. He's a really cool looking fish with a pretty mild dispositon.

Check the Tang closely. A lot of folks recommend a 6 foot tank for a Tang as they are active swimmers. Regarding the Mandarin, it's been my experience through reading here that they typically starve in a tank that's not well established.

Will do. I've seen too many people recommending 75G minimal, and even seen people saying 55G is the bare minimum. After consulting with quite a few experts, I should be able to keep a small tang in there and by the time it's needing more room, I think it's about time to buy a bigger place for a bigger tank (in a few years).

well i would wait till the tank was established for the mandarin as i said and many people say that 75 is the min for the zebra species tangs i believe-- the tank wont be filled to the to with rock and corals so he will have the entire tank to swim through--if i could afford and maintain a 6 foot tank believe me i would-

I love my Flame Hawk. He's like a little puppy dog. Lots of personality. Not to mention the vibrant color of red dancing around the tank. Can't have srimps and stuff though. My beloved Greenbird Wrasse was the best fish ever. Lost him about 8 mos ago due to age. I miss him. Some sort of Blennie is always nice. Coral or Flame always a nice choice. Tomini Tang is nice. The smallest of the Tangs and great to keep algea under control. Their coloring varies. Mine is a grey/purple opal with yellow fins. Gobies are cool and there are just so many. Have fun man. One of the best parts is building your community. Watch out though cause you'll change your mind alot.

I agree than flame hawkfish is a good choice. That was a funny fish with a lot of personnality. Goby like firefish or clown goby could be great too. Or a royal gramma, a mated pair of bangai cardinal, a dwarf angel(cherub angel is my favorite)...And for the tang, I'll go for a yellow, a tomini or a kole tang!;-) They stay small enough for a 75 gal.
