Just wanted to share a few Ventralis Anthia pics
I've had these fish for over a month now and they are doing great. They eat everything now, including flakes. I had three females, but over the course of a week or so, one female has turned into a male. The pics are not the greatest as they are almost impossible to take photos of. I hope you like them.

I have always loved the Ventralis anthias, but never had the conditions to try and keep them.

Congrats! You are the minority!! Please feel free to post the pics in the anthias photo library thread. And give specifics of system and care. Thank you!

one of the few. From the looks of it they are from Vanuatu?? Seems vanuatu has been exporting some healthy specimens (still colder water) but healthy. very beautiful!
|
Thanks guys. I think they are from the Cook Islands.
|
They are the Cooks form. Once the male grows out a bit more it will be eaier to tell. Great looking! Good luck with them.

females look so much alike from vanuatu and cooks. lol i thought the more purple ones were from vanuatu? the female hawaiianensis are yellow and the males are a little reddish with purple, so those are easy to tell apart!
what temp do you keep them at? |
Thanks guys. I've been keeping them in 74-75 degree temps for now.
