my garage sale

http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1279135

since some folks get baffled by the Fragswapper site and trade/selling threads often get bogged down I'm creating this thread as a simple alternative communication for what I'll be making available for the URS/URSNY Klier "garage sale" reef meeting on Sun. January 27th 2008.
Please do not post to this thread.
If you're interested in something here in this thread please PM me. Since my frags are fresh cut and unmounted cuttings taken from living corals growing in my aquarium I prefer not to frag any corals unless I know the frags are sold in advance. Very rarely do I have any "unspoken for" frags at a reef meet event, so if you see something that you want here I'll repeat it again: please PM me well in advance of the event.
All my livestock is pest free and well acclimated to aquarium life. Most of my corals have lived in captivity for many years and are "proven winners"- just ask anybody that's tried them.

Lastly: I prefer colorful "easy to care for" corals and I'm always on the lookout for such. I'm not into really expensive "limited edition" corals. If you think that you have a coral growing in your system that fits what I'm describing, I'm interested- please PM me.

Acropora #1

no positive ID on this yet. Known locally as "Gary's unknown Acro". Beautiful and hard to kill. Grows well in most reef aquarium systems as long as the bare minimum environmental conditions are provided. 1" frag $30. Larger available and priced accordingly, but a 1" frag mounted horizontally can grow into a colony rapidly.

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 11:45 AM

Acropora #2

"hairy green" A. millepora
I have two different origins of this coral- one is DrTango and the other is Mark L. ("Marksreef"). Both appear identical and are definitely the same species. 1" fresh cut unmounted frags $30. Larger available upon request.

more listings to follow

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:12 PM

Tubipora spp.

"Organ pipe" or "pipe organ" coral. Tubipora spp.
This coral has a red skeleton.
$10 for a frag (seen above). Glue the frag onto some rock as you would a SPS coral and it will grow into a colony (as seen below).

Seriatopora hystrix (?)

Pink "Birdnest" coral. $20/frag. Frag at least 1" long. Larger frags available upon request. Grows long thin branches if not given lots of water flow.

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:24 PM

Plexaura or Pseudoplexaura spp. gorgonian

it's photosynthetic (light loving) and grows very well in most reef aquariums. If you've never had luck with a gorg you've never tried this one! $30 for an unmounted frag that will be greater than 3" length.

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:31 PM

Montipora capricornis (?)

purple cap. This coral originally came from RandyO. It's a fast grower :) $25 for a nice size frag. Frags often break up to be greater than 2" across.

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:42 PM

Montipora spp. (various)

"Orange caps" $30 (I have these growing all over my aquarium)
"Idaho grape" $30 this coral is directly next to/underneath the green Acro. I got this coral from Gary Greguire who claims it's a Tyree and it's lineage is known. (Not that I care because it's a nice coral even if it's not a Tyree!)

Note: the baby blue coral in the above pic is an Echinopora
no pink rim or blue polyp cap available at this point in time

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:48 PM

neon green star polyps

these are the brightest green star polyps that you'll ever see!
Originally from Marksreef. 2" frag for $20. Add with caution- these can overgrow your aquarium!

Gary Majchrzak 12/29/2007 03:51 PM

Frogspawn

$15 per head. Yes- certain Clownfish will host in it.

Acropora #3

Acropora yongei "Green slimer" $30 for 2" frag

That's the end of my posted garage sale frags.

I'll donate half the profits of my frag sales to the URSNY.

I'll post equipment and related stuff next.

I'd like to mention that picking things up early leaves me less to carry to the garage sale :)

Weekends are the best time for me to do aquarium related things.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:32 PM.
