Acan and Challice versus red vine algae

Several frags that I got in a while back had this low growing red vine type of algae. It appears that the Acans are growing over it but will challices? Will it inhibit the growth of corals that encrust? Thanks in advance.

No one?

Not sure how it will effect their growth. But I would recommend getting some Mex turbos to eat it and get rid of it for you. :)

Mex Turbo Snails? They will eat red vine type algae?

Essentially most types of algae can have a detrimental effect on you corals health if they come into contact. Which ever one can grow fast usually wins, and my guess is the algae can out grow your corals.

Sorry I don't know what eats it.

I would love to know if mex turbos eat it... I have it in my tank too, and it is a PITA!!!
Please say they eat it...
Please! lol

They ate it for me. Get some and try it, nothing to lose. :)

I will have to!

How many would you say in a 30long with a decent amount of the PITA red wire algae...

Try at least 6. That way they'll have plenty to eat.
