coral beauty is annoying

I just got a sandsifting goby for my 75 gal. tank last week. It barely ever comes out and whenever it does and the coral beauty is near it, the goby darts into his cave. Im almost possitive the coral beauty chases him even though I havent seen it. When the goby was put in the tank the coral beauty chased him once or twice but I figured it was normal cause he did that with every other fish of mine. Anything i could do to take some aggression away from the CB to the goby?

thanks

I have a coral beauty and a watchman goby. My CB does not even pay my goby any mind at all. This is just a new guy to the tank thing. (territorial) Give it some time. You have a large enough tank for them to get along. The CB should loose interest.

How many other fish do you have besides the CB and the goby?

pull the CB out of the tank and give him a good spanking. If this doesnt work you will have to sacrafice him to the reef gods.

What you can do is catch him and keep him in the net for a few days. I tried this when I introduced a new maroon clown and it worked.

This will pass. The beuty is just pushing his wieght around and letting the goby know the pecking order. I woudlnt worry as he can hold his own.

Mine is perfect. Not territorial. Never nipped at any coral. Could care less about my goby.

You could try putting in some new plastic plants or PVC pipe to change the territory. Or re-arrange your rock if that's not too much trouble to do. Then of course if that doesn't work "pull the CB out of the tank and give him a good spanking."
