HDMI cable question

There is an hdmi cable on ebay for 20 bux that is gold-plated and one for 50 bux that is "premium gold plated." What is the difference?

I wouldn't waste my money on gold-plated anything; just get regular, it works fine.

Yep, I read the same thing on the AV forum. The $5 one works just as well as the $75 one.

What's more important with HDMI is the amount of shielding the cable has, for distance runs. HDMI is a pretty delicate digital format, even more so now that it's carrying audio, and it's prone to interference.

I just put my tv on the wall and all my components in a closet. I made my own cable with RG6 with LRC snap n seal rca plugs.

I work around tv's all day and the components are stiil the best pic for hd the broadcasters still use it and they will never go to hdmi.imo Read the av forms lots of great info on HDMI VS COMPONENTS Just trying to help.

Check Monoprice for the cable also, you can get it for less. Cables can be a waste of money if you are not careful.
