NC 28 HQI Heat Problems?

Temps in my new Nano Cube 28g HQI are running around 82 degrees while factory lights are on. Anyone have any luck attaching fan(s) to the back to reduce temperature? Chillers are just too expensive.

Thanks
Clint

There are a few people that have added fans. Just remember that the fans will greatly increase the evaporation rate so you should have some sort of a topoff system in place to minimize salinity shifts.

The 2 fan unit is the one I have to help cool my Nanocube 28HQI. It well fit over the back rim. Does help cool my tank a couple of degrees. I also have ATO for the evap. HTH

My tank is having the same issue. I rigged up a fan on the back that did an excellent job of cooling the tank. It also increased the evaporation rate to around 32 ounces a day. It was too much for me so I just picked up a used chiller on ebay for $172. I will be hooking it up next week.
