triming Lumenarc?

i might be getting a Lumenarc reflector. its 19.5x19.5 can i trim it down? is it worth triming? like to take it down to maybe a min. 14 inches

Just buy the luminarc mini it is already 14" and it is the same reflector just 5" smaller.I have one on my 92 corner.

well i am getting this one on a trade so cost to me is not much. i have my eye on the mini. if i can trim this one down would save me some money and i would need only one mini and not buy two.

Trimming it down would completely destroy it. Its designed with the depth it has because of where the bulb is.

Its like T-5 reflectors. They are computer designed for a reason. Any mods will ruin their effectiveness.

Are you an engineer at lumenarc?

amazing, what a statement

effectiveness i am not sure is a big deal. do i need light 1.5 inches over the width of the tank. probly not.

would it still work better then a normal spider. i would some what think so. but before i got it thought i see if anything maybe someone has done it or doesnt see to much lose of light that it would matter?

I am sure the engineers at Lumenarc would agree with him.
