I wish i could go there, but we are going from Massachusetts to Maine. That will have to be a different trip haha

I've been to the New England Aquarium in Boston several times. It won't disappoint you.
My wife is from Maine. Their aquarium is supposed to be very good, but by the time we get that far north she's wanting to get home, so haven't visited. http://www.maine.gov/dmr/rm/aquarium/index.html Hope you'll share some pics. |
Does Boston still have a nice aquarium? I remember going there as a kid and was always amazed. . .of course, I was just a kid, so my perspective was a bit different. It's the only one I can think of up around that area.

Still nice to me and the wharf is nice afterwards.

Besides Boston you also have the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT. It's about 2 hrs south of Boston on I95. It's pretty good. As I recall their big tank has a few beluga whales. Here's their website http://www.mysticaquarium.org/
I don't know of any public aquariums in Maine. |
thanks for the info, ill be sure to take pics

Long Island probably isn't in your plan but they have the Atlantis Aquarium. You'd have to search for a link, but they have a nice site and you can actually swim with the rays and sharks. 20,000 gallon reef tank too.

Baltimore aquarium is great
|
both of those are a bit to south of are planned route. I think we already have all of our places to stay, so we have to stay on route. BTW Baltimore aquarium is REALLY good. I really liked it when i was there a few years ago.

I agree NEw England Aquarium in Boston is definitely worth checking out.
|
mystic and boston are both great places.
|
Baltimore aquarium was good but thats slightly out of the way
|
Mystic is well Worth the trip! I went to the Atlantis aquarium in Long island a few weeks ago! The reef tank is incredible. I think the owner of the aquarium is a member here as well.
My only dissapointment was that I paid for the behind the scenes tour, and it included everything........EXCEPT the reef tank. So I was kinda bummed about it. But they have a nice propagation and QT area! |
thanks everyone! im leaving tomorrow morning so i'll see what we have time for!

Were you being sarcastic when you said it was stunning, but getting better? Never been. Thanks.

So I went the the New England Aquarium today and it was really good. The Jellyfish exhibits and the big cylinder tank were really cool.
