29g Bio Cube... what do I do with the bio balls?

Just bought the 29 g Bio Cube. I know that I am supposed to ditch the bio balls, but do I put anything in its place? And, what about the sponge filter and carbon filter, do I ditch them also? And will the stock pump have sufficient flow?

if u remove the Bio Balls, fill the chamber with LR rubble.Leave the carbon,& the sponge imo.

I'd do the rubble too. Bio balls end up being a heap of trouble.

You can use the bio balls to practice your golf swing! :)

What about the sponge and carbon filter? Do I leave those?

chocolateblnt 01/04/2007 04:26 PM

Sponges can collect lots of garbage but they need to be rinsed every so often. Carbon is cool cuz it'll absorb other garbage and help with water quality, also needs to be replaced every so often.

what exactly is the trouble caused by the bio balls?

kjordan 01/04/2007 05:26 PM

So, I keep the sponge and carbon filter?
