? on a coralife super skimmer
when i plug it in i can hear it turn on, but there's no swirl, i put my hand in the water over the pump to see if there's any suction then it started to swirl, i have to do that every time, even when the power goes out, any thoughts?
|
Is it modded?
How old is it? How deep is the pump below water level? |
The pump might be too deep in the water. It should be around 3 inches deep. The reason it sucks air when your hand is on it is because your blocking some of the water and the only other place to pull form is the air line.

its just in a tub of LR,

and it wont start to swirl until i put my hand over that,
|
did the coralife skimmer design change or does the larger model look different? kinda looks like an asm skimmer
|
Thats not a coralife super skimmer. I don't know what skimmer it is. The only guess I got is it's in too deep of water. Try raising it up and see if that works.

oh im sorry,i get the two mixed up, i have that one in my 75 i did mean a G3,
|
show off. That is some nice rock, and good foam in the skimmer.
Are you setting up a new tank or is it going into your 75? |
