what did reef santa bring you?

so what did you get?

TikiDan 12/25/2007 08:17 PM

Red sea max!!!

delsol650 12/25/2007 09:11 PM

you got the 34 Dan?

jkreefer 12/25/2007 09:19 PM

Sweet, I got JoAnna one of those 12 gallon nanos with the 70w halides. Now she has her own tank that she can auqascape it herself and "I cant tell her what she can or cant put in it"

TikiDan 12/25/2007 09:27 PM

yup, it's the 34g one! put in new sand and 15 pounds of dry rock. I want to keep as many pests out of this one as possible, so after the new year, I am going to order 25 lbs. of shelf rock and another 25 lbs. box of small rock from Marco rocks. I did add 1 cup of my sand from my 125g to help with cycle but thats it.

Now I just need to figure out what to put in it :)

delsol650 12/25/2007 09:52 PM

Dan, just watch out for temps on that thing. I was going to buy it origally but opted for a cube due to temp issues. But if your not upgrading your light, you should be good. its a beautiful tank though. Did you get silver or black.

SanFranTodd 12/25/2007 09:55 PM

She got a puppy, I got this:

Sigh, now I'm just trying to convince her not to name the dog "marshmallow" :rolleye1:

TikiDan 12/25/2007 09:58 PM

Got the silver one that Chris had at Aquatic Central. So far my temp is stable so I think it should be ok. The only downside is they just started installing new more powerful fans that were quieter....I got the old version :(

tuberider 12/26/2007 12:04 AM

Same as a last year... coal.

TimTen 12/26/2007 01:16 AM

I'm so happy, I got a ACIII. I can't wait to get it up and running.

Kinetic 12/26/2007 01:42 AM

i didn't get any reef stuff... everything I want is more than $1,000!! I need richer friends ;)

earthboy17 12/26/2007 11:46 AM

Got a $50 gift certificate for AAF.

And on Christmas Eve my wife and I bought her a Longhorn Cowfish!!

We pick it up today at 11:00.

I bought her a little cube that was hers, and since cowfish can wipe a tank, it will be in its own little system.

I also bought myself an arrow crab. (Does it count as Reef Santa if I buy it for myself?)

Coal and a T-shirt :(

Kinetic 12/26/2007 12:17 PM

very cool! cowfish get over a foot long and wide right? It'd need a bigger tank soon.

GreshamH 12/26/2007 12:24 PM

18ish inches at full size (longhorn cow)

FishAreFriends2 12/27/2007 11:51 AM

How about creme puff? :D

tuberider 12/27/2007 12:32 PM

fluffy?

SanFranTodd 12/27/2007 06:58 PM

Geez I hope I don't ever have to name a kid, b/c naming this dog has kept me up for the past 2 nights :D

The g/f says it's either Clyde or Marshmallow, so I guess Clyde it is...

LOL and here's how the conversation went:

me: "so what should we name him?"

her: "I get to pick right?"

me: "uhhh...yeah I guess"

her: "he's so cute, he looks like a marshmallow"

me: "what about 'Bandit' or something"

her: "I like marshmallow. It's perfect!"

me: "You can't name the dog marshmallow!"

her: "It will be cute, we can call him 'Marsh' for short!"

me: "sigh. I'm going to bed"

Coal and a T-shirt :(
I hope it was a Reef-Nutrition shirt:lol:

troutonmyline 12/27/2007 07:06 PM

That's gotta be the cutest puppy!

earthboy17 12/27/2007 09:40 PM

That dog is a "Marshmallow" if I've ever seen one!!

Just kidding. Bandit would be great.

And yeah, we know the fish will eventually outgrow his tank. RIght now he's 1.5" long and we figure we'll have a while with him. I've heard they're delicate so I'm just hoping we have him long enough to NEED the bigger tank. THen we'll probably sell him or trade him back to the LFS for some credit.

I got a Oceanic Biocube 29. Got my Sea Apple in it. Not sure what else to add yet. Definitely going to stay with the stock lights.

FunGuy 01/09/2008 04:44 PM

Bah. I guess I was a bad just like some of you. He gave me a late gift... a 24 hr power outage.
