purpose of the deck? well it happens to be one of the highest points around and we have ocean and sound veiws from it . the polycarb panels even stop beer bottles from above:D

redox 02/27/2007 06:13 PM

? its true

I guess its true polycarbonate panels dont let the right spectrum of light through. The pic shows this too be true?:p

Awesome pics Doug! How's the huge DSB "jug" working?

redox 02/28/2007 05:54 AM

its the best bang for your buck in the gh. Im glad you chimed in Chris, I remember you telling me about something I could do to the skimmer to get more foam with less electricity(needle wheel or mesh wheel) the pump is simmilar to the dart. any help would be apreciated .thanks

bkiba 02/28/2007 06:53 AM

where are you in OBX? I visit down there every year in the summer to emerald isle. I'd love to stop by and see your setup if you are nearby and willing to see visitors.

redox 02/28/2007 07:18 AM

you got a pm bkiba

Stoney Mahony 02/28/2007 09:21 AM

Redox, take a look at the "meshwheel frickin rocks" thread in the DIY and you will not be sorry. I cant imagine using a mesh mod on one of those giant RK2 mothers! Your gonna get some super foam! :)

this puppy makes 1500 gallons per day. I am in the process of almost doubling that amount by adding another 4"x40"membrane

I was telling my husband about your great setup and we both had one question. Do you have to use massive chillers in the summer and massive heaters in the summer? I am a newby at this propigation thing and I have mine in the basement....so it stays pretty constant. Lots of moisture though. We are dealing with that now!!! Looks great. Thanks for sharing photos!!!

redox 03/04/2007 07:42 AM

just a central air unit , no heat other than 2-1000 watt titaniums. I have lots of moisture as well, an exaust fan helps that. You could install a energy recovery vetilator to solve your moisture in the basement:D

AWESOME! Could you post a better shot of your phytoplankton reactors? Are they DIY? Can you explain how they work?

Thanks
