Update on the new setup...
 

Well, I added the last of the rock that I want in the tank a few days ago, and messed around with the aquascaping...I think I finally got it where I like it - lots of caves. :)

I originally planned to set it up as a planted marine tank with some zoas and other softies, and keep a pair or two of seahorses and some small fish, but just seeing the temps up into the low 90's a few weeks ago, and me with no chiller....my tank got above safe SH temps.... :(

So I think I'm going to settle for a reef tank again (not that thats a bad thing !) lol
Zoas are by far my fav, so it will likely be a zoanthid dominated tank, with some other corals as well though, and a few smaller fish to keep movement in the tank.

It looks very nice. I have a bunch of zoas, maybe we can trade when you start getting a collection going.

Cool cool... zoos sound good! There are a few of us collecting zoos right now, and I know someone else in the club is thinking about setting up a zoanthid-only reef. If everyone has something a little different it should make for some good trading.

All my tanks in the past have been mostly zoas. I got most of mine from Aquadesignz.com, and a few others from trading locally. Once up and growing, I'd love to trade with you guys ! :)

Aquadesignz has some nice stuff, they're mostly wild collected. There are some other more local (bay area, fresno area) places that you can shop online too; these guys deal with captive propagated frags, for the most part:

lol....thanks for the links. I thought Aquadesignz was pricey....till I saw the prices for zoas on the links ! hehe

I guess it kinda sucks now that people have finally realized that zoas are beautiful....prices are getting very steep.

Captive propagated frags (of anything) are usually pretty expensive compared to wild collected pieces. Most people are only propagating the more desirable colors, but the more common (and sometimes just as colorful) zoos are still out there :)
