Cu

I have .2 Cu in my tank I was needing to know how to remove it. I want to start a reef so I need the Cu gone.

Is there live rock and sand in the tank? If so, you may have a hard time using them for a reef tank now.

Did you intentionally add copper as a medication?

yes and no

Yes there is live rock and sand in the tank. No I did not use any copper meds. My tap water is at .25 Cu and my tank is at .20 Cu but I have crabs that are fine.

How did you measure copper?

First by a Hach and it read .014 second I got at a store and it sayed .2 ppm.

That's a serious problem. I'd search this forum for discussions about cleanign the equipment and tank, toss any sand, and look to possible cleaning the live rock with something like muriatic acid (which will kill everything on it, but may also remove absorbed copper).
