Will a yellow tang eat caulerpa taxifolia?

And will it harm the tang to eat it?
Will anything else eat it?
I've been plucking by hand, but can't get rid of it.
BTW, it is in my fuge, not the display tank.

I'm thinking of pulling out all I can, and keeping the fuge dark for a couple weeks to kill off the rest. Would that work?

I find that fish like tangs will eat it...the problem is that not all of them will eat it, so you can get a yellow tank and it might ignore it. If you have a good fish store that you frequent, let them put some of the caulerpa into their tanks with tangs in them and see which one takes if...some tang will most likely go for it and that's the one to take, of course. If you can't get that done, your best bet might be with a Foxface, rather than a tang.

The caulerpa is tenacious stuff and it may well take a month more of darkness to thoroughly kill it.

Is that feather caulerpa? My yellow tang sure did mow down the patch that was taking over my tank, but i've been told I was lucky to get one that ate it, and not all of them do.

My blue tang wiped out 5 different species of caulerpa from my 75g. As was said above, some seem to go for it more than others.
FWIW,

I think I'll pop my yellow tang in there for a while (if I can get him out of my display tank).
