hatching

If clowns are left in a tank with the parents to hatch, is it possible to get them out after? I am reading most take the unhatched clowns out first and keep on an airstone. Can they be fed in the main tank if it contains only clowns and corals?

I don't think they can be fed in the main tank because the pumps, etc will damage the larvae since they are so fragile and it would be nearly impossible to keep the rotifer density high enough to allow them sufficient food to survive and grow. I know people transfer the hatched larvae out of the main tank by using bowls and stuff like that. Siphons aren't recommended because they can also damage the larvae. I would recommend the books "Clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson and the Complete Illustrated Guide to Marine Fish Breeding (or something like that, its off the top of my head). Both are excellent sources of information about clownfish breeding

The larvae will be eaten by the parents and the corals in the tank.
I know people take the eggs out when you can see the eyes right before they hatch.
