anyone ever added individual reflectors to a t-5 fixture that didnt have them?

just got a ho t-5 four bulb fixture. i got it dirt cheap. it only had one plug so i rewired it to have three plugs, one for day bulbs one for actinics and one for moon lights. i also want to add some individual reflectors but i dont know if i have enough room. only ones that i can find measurements on ar the ic reflectors and they are 2.5". a little too wide. does anyone know if there are any smaller reflectors or possibly a diy reflector material?

Nope... that is about as small as they get. Remember the SHAPE of the refelctor is what makes it so efficient.

Maybe place them on only the DAY bulbs and leave the actinics bare. Or use the ballasts and scrap the rest of the fixture for a DIY unit that will accomodate the SLRs

The original SLS TEK reflectors (not TEK II) are just over 2".

where can i get those at all ive seen are the ic reflectors and arcadia reflectors. i cant find dimensions of the arcadia. thanks sjm 817. anyone ever seen a diy reflector for t5s

A DIY reflector is a waste of time. The whole advantage of the SLR is its precise shape.

SJM, I thought that they were 3"?

SJM is right. I just measured mine that I got from ReefGeek a couple years ago and its 2".

Not sure where to get them now. Maybe buy used in the selling forum.

Thanks for the confirmation. I don't know where I got the idea that they were 3"
