Octopus Extreme TS-150 Protein Skimmer---1 week old

I bought this a week ago, and to check them out and have been quite impressed. It however isn't what I need for my new tank set-up, however it is one heck of a good skimmer.

I have had it up on my frag tank, and IMO it is better than any ASM I have ever owned.

Anyway, I am looking to get $200 OBO shipped to your door, I still have the original packaging.

Looks kinda of weird. How does the collection cup come off? Where did this come from?

BLANKENSHIP76 01/06/2008 01:13 PM

It just comes off here is a picture off it the bottom piece is actually part of the skimmer, I really like the design, catches additional waste.

BLANKENSHIP76 01/06/2008 03:10 PM

BLANKENSHIP76 01/06/2008 05:18 PM

No its an Octo 2000, standard Octopus pump w/ needlewheel

jmjohnson 01/06/2008 06:14 PM

does it produces microbubbles into the tank?

BLANKENSHIP76 01/06/2008 06:48 PM

No, it doesn't.

I was worried about that when i saw the design originally, but it doesn't at all.

Are you sure that's not the PS-150? There's a price difference between the two.

BLANKENSHIP76 01/08/2008 11:02 AM

Paid $210 for it last week, so if you can get it for $185, I'd say buy it.

I will take $190 shipped for it.

BLANKENSHIP76 01/08/2008 02:05 PM

SOLD

chaffey 01/08/2008 02:50 PM

I missed another deal.

frankandmaura 01/08/2008 03:44 PM

I understand this one is sold, but what makes this one better than the old NW-200?? I am going to be buying one and I am not sure which to buy. Thanks for your help.

BLANKENSHIP76 01/08/2008 04:07 PM

I think it becasue they eliminated the elbow with restricted the flow greatly, and added the bubble-plate to reduce turbulence.

I think that is the major advantage of these. They are really powerful little skimmer.

frankandmaura 01/08/2008 04:27 PM

Thanks...much appreciated!
