True rare Florida ricordea.....and another yuma
I got this the other day, a true pink Florida ricordea.....I can't believe the color of this thing. The camera does it no justice....This is with just my 14k 250 SE, I have a T-5 set up coming today with Super actinic R bulbs.....I can't wait to see how the color pops......

where did u order from? also is your sandbed covered with rics?
WOW! Nice looking ricordia.
Lets hope it stays pink and gets more intense :) Jeff |
damn, that's hot. PM the info where you got them if you want to be discreet.
I got it from a buddy of mine down in Florida, he bought some and went back to the LFS to see if they had more. Well to my luck they did and he sent me that one.....I paid of course......I won't say how much but it was a nice pretty penny.....
As far as the sand bed no, I just started collecting them again. I could never keep yumas for very long and I have since went through many changes in my tank from lights to salt and I can keep yumas now. As far as Florida ricordea I have always loved those as well and have changed my ideology as far as my tank and what I want in it....Zoas, palys, rics.....With a couple SPS and LPS but very minimum......I have a new T-5 light system coming today with the actinics s I will post pics after I get that all set up and we can see what that does for the colors..... |
I got the same ones from my local Lfs here where your friend got them from. They are nice. I got a whole rock of them and a couple loose ones. They were anywhere from 15-20 per polyp
Those are SIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice find.
very nice
Here is a couple updated pics after I added my T-5 actinics:

Wow! Amazing color on that pink ric. Nice yuma too! I'll take a pink baby ric when it splits.
It has 3 mouths right now.....Hope it starts to split now and often....So far the has been no color change under the lighting I have other then more pink which is what is wanted. It does seem to have some green intermixed in the acrotenticles/psudotenticles......
It's so gorgeous.
all are sweet!!
Great shots! what type of camera and lighting are you using?
Very nice shots. What differences are you seeing in color and growth after adding the T5's?

Great shots! what type of camera and lighting are you using?
It's just a Nikon coolpix 4300 in the macro mode...... The lighting is a 250 14k Hamilton SE and supplimented with 2x54w 48'' T-5 UVI Super actinic Rs. |

Very nice shots. What differences are you seeing in color and growth after adding the T5's?
The colors seem to be a bit more intense in the rics as well as the zoas and Palys. As far as growth I have not seen any new rics other then one of my purple rics that was in the beginnings of splitting when I bought it. Some of the palys have really colored up.....But that is for a different forum. |
Those are very pretty. The pink one looks like pink
dipping dots. =) |
even the one hiding behind the pink one is nice!
I wish they weren't so pricey. They are one of my favorite corals so far.
Most of them were around $20 except for the pink and a true yellow I have now......I added about 5 new single polyps and a rock of lighter pinks(5-6) polyps and a rock of 30-40 polyps of greens with purple maybe today.....Pics will be coming....
I can't wait!
beautiful!!!
Wow....all of them are beautiful. Where in Florida did your friend get these? I live in Florida and haven't seen any this nice.
He's in the Fort lauderdale area I think.......
