Is that a baby kitten off to the right side of the middle pic there? A nice touch!
we didn't cook kitties till much later
Yummy....
How many crayfish did you get?!:eek1: :eek2:
a few friends flew in from baton rouge for the new years, they brought 150# of fresh caught crawfish, plenty of proper spices and the know-how to put on a good cajun feed!
Nothing better than sucking the boiled guts out of a freshwater bug. Mmmm!

More for us Mark....

I've never had them. Do they taste anything like crab or shrimp?
I have yet to try them but my husband raves about how good they are. I like shrimp but I don't like lobster so I'm not sure how I would like "mud bugs."
I'm sure it tastes good. At least the actual meat. The whole "ripping the tail off and sucking out the guts" part is a real turn off. If I have to buy something "purged", I'll pass.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! You are so lucky. I love crawfish. Havent had any in years since they are about 4 dollars for a half pound here. I need to have a crawfish feast :)
and what is that pink thing anyway?
they taste closer to lobsters than shrimp... 150llbs is a lot.. thas a whole day of eating.. and some.. but that table is all wrong.. you need a old picnic table and just pout out the goods on it.. sit in the slop and grub on!!!! as for the sucking guts... thats the good stuff.. that is where the spice is ... get your mouth kinda burning after a while though... it was well over 15 years before i had my last meal on crawfish ( which was a few months ago.. im in TX now and i was born in Orleans.. ) how much was it for a lb??? medium size on sale once ina while is i think $1 a lb.. extra large is almost $2 i think.. ( not exact cuzz i just bought it.. dint care for the price)

What they don't taste like chicken?
I don't think they taste like either myself, a unique taste of their own. And you can just eat the tail, you don't have to suck their guts out... |

And you can just eat the tail, you don't have to suck their guts out...
Well, THAT'S good to know :D |
But what fun is it if you can't slurp the guts out?

And you can just eat the tail, you don't have to suck their guts out...
Oh, yeah. Right. I can just see it now... Me sitting with my head down, as to avoid seeing what everyone else is doing, while blindly reaching into a pile of cooked bugs ( I know. I know. But they might as well be...), all the while listening to this stomach churning "SLUURRRP!" being repeated over and over and over. Yum. |
Looks like a lot of bait to catch some real food with. :D
it will all change when you get a few down... you wont pay any attenion to anyone or anything els.. it's a race to eat the most!!!
