Zoanthid Spider Bite!!!!!

I got bit by one of these things on my finger. Am I in danger? Are they posionous? I got bit about 4 hours ago and it hurt a bit, but i am not in any pain right now. It looks a bit swelled up and red but nothing major.

Dont have the slightest clue... so... tell us!

Are you still alive?

cchoffman 05/24/2007 01:32 PM

guess not.

They are Pycnogonids, aka Sea Spiders. Most eat various cnidarians, however, I've never heard of them being venomous (poisonous has to do with eating things ;) ).

Bill thanks for the info . Got a quick question if you have a moment. I have a fairly nice micromussa and it has grown nicely . It has a lot of polyps with a bunch of baby ones . I'd like to frag it but it cost alot and it would suck if it bit it . Any ideas or tricks before i get out the dremel . thanks Ken
